COMMAND

The Central Station was built in 1999 to replace the the original station in old Bracken that had been outgrown and was located in the corner of the service area, delaying response time. It has eight vehicle bays, a dormitory, showers, and kitchen for continuous operations, and a propane emergency generator to support all station electrical, communications and water (well) requirements for up to a week.

Station 2 was built in 1985 on FM 482 near Comal Elementary School to improve response times throughout the service area. It has two bays, but only very basic support facilities.

1980 International S1900 Brush/Wildfire Truck with 1000 gals water, Class ‘A’ foam

2007 Pierce/Siddons Ford F550 Brush/Wildfire Truck with 400 gals water, Class ‘A’ foam

1973 Kaiser Brush/Wildfire Truck with 750 gals water, Class ‘A’ foam

1988 International S1900 Tanker with 1500 gals water, two portable drop tanks

2007 Pierce International Pumper/Tanker with 2100 gals water, Class ‘A’ foam, one portable drop tank

2003 Ferrara Ford F550 Rescue Truck with CAFS, hydraulic rescue tools, vehicle/swiftwater/cave/vertical rescue gear

2006 Ford F250 Utility Truck. Provides relief crew, spare supplies/equipment.

2008 Ford Expedition EL. Provides mobile incident command and control, and relief crew/supplies.
