Lt. Dan Bellinger BBQ Benefit

Date: Saturday, February 10th, 2018

Location: Bluebonnet Palace

Lt. Dan Bellinger has served the community of Garden Ridge for nearly 16 years. He has worked his way through the rank of Patrolman to his current position as Patrol Lieutenant, the Second in Command of the department. He has been the driving force for many local programs and works as the department liaison with the Garden Ridge Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (GRCPAAA). He devotes countless hours to the citizens of Garden Ridge and insures he is always available to help his officers. Now it is time for us to show our gratitude for his efforts.

Lt. Bellinger was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. He has undergone chemo therapy and is currently undergoing immunotherapy. The financial struggles that accompany these ongoing treatments are not totally covered by insurance. Those of us who work with and know him are asking for assistance for Lt. Bellinger and his family.

The GRCPAAA, the Garden Ridge Police Department and his friends are organizing a fund raiser to help offset the huge costs of his treatment. We have developed this Go Fund Me page along with other avenues for our community to help him. There is also a bank account set up under the Dan Bellinger Fund at First United Bank in Garden Ridge. Donations may be made in person at that location as well.

Our organizations are planning a fund raising event to be held on 10 February 2018 at the Bluebonnet Palace in Selma, Texas. There will be Bar B Que plates on sale through any member of the Police Department as well as members of the GRCPAAA. Every Bar B Que plate ticket sold ($10) will be entered into a drawing for some great prizes. The plates will be available on 10 February from 5:00 pm thru 8:00 pm. We will also have live music during the event provided by the Greg Alan Band. Along with the food and entertainment we will also be hosting a live auction at 6:30 pm. There will be several very nice items to bid on. Items are being added as we progress. The event will be held on 10 February 2018 but donations will continue to be accepted through 17 February 2018 through this page as well as the First United Bank Account.

Please help us in showing Lt. Bellinger how much we have appreciated what he has selflessly given to our community over the last 16 years by helping him and his family fight this terrifying disease. All of the money collected through these events will be donated to Lt. Bellinger in full.

There is also a GoFundMe page that has been setup for donations.  You can donate to this fund through this link: https://www.gofundme.com/dan-bellinger-cancer-fund

Thank you in advance for your help with this effort.
